Minister of Digital Malaysia

GOBIND SINGH DEO was appointed as the Minister of the newly-established Ministry of Digital in December 2023.

He has served as Minister of Communications and Multimedia from May 2018 until February 2020. In that time, he pushed for reforms in various sectors such as making broadband more affordable and accessible, media freedom, transitioning national broadcaster Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) into the digital era, and enhancing the country’s digital connectivity through 5G.

Christoffer Erichsen is the Chairman & Founding Partner of Human Inc, an award-winning consultancy focused on corporate innovation, digital transformation, and leadership development. With over 20 years of experience, he has advised leading organisations like HSBC, Singapore Airlines, FedEx, Astro, and Petronas, helping turn strategy into measurable outcomes. His work centres on building human-centred, innovation-driven cultures that enable sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.

Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke

Group CEO of Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd

Norman Matthieu Vanhaecke is the Group CEO of Cradle Fund, Malaysia’s focal agency for startup ecosystem development under Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Since 2022, he has expanded Cradle’s role beyond grants to lead national and regional initiatives, including the Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap 2021–2030, MYStartup, and Startup ASEAN.
He began his career at KPMG and has experience across corporate and government sectors. He holds degrees in Accounting from the University of Queensland and Software Engineering from Multimedia University.

Dato' Sharil Tarmizi

Senior Advisor, ZICO

Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi is a mentor at NEXEA, a Southeast Asian startup accelerator and venture capital firm that has invested in over 35 startups. Sharil has a diverse background in both public and private sectors and is an authority on internet governance and telecommunications. He was responsible for modernizing the Malaysian telecommunications industry and has led various strategic projects and corporate transactions. He is also an experienced mentor, working with startups and scale-ups across the world.

Wendy Kho

Head of Strategic Initiatives AWS

Wendy Kho is a technology and business leader serving as Head of Strategic Initiatives at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she leads high-impact strategic programs across Malaysia and the ASEAN region. She plays a key role in accelerating cloud adoption, enabling digital transformation for enterprises and startups, and strengthening partnerships within the technology ecosystem. Through her leadership, Wendy contributes to advancing innovation and supporting the growth of the region’s digital economy.

Thinesh Kumar Asogan

Co-Founder and CEO Lapasar

Thinesh Kumar Asogan, has harnessed his expertise to drive significant impact. After earning a Business Management degree from KDU Penang University College, Thinesh became the CEO of Lapasar.com in 2017, focusing on digitizing small businesses in Malaysia. His leadership has helped modernize commerce, enabling local enterprises to thrive in the digital age. Thinesh's journey reflects how dedication and vision can transform industries and empower communities.

Naia Jang

Founder of Groove Round

Naia Jang is a global accelerator and open innovation strategist specializing in designing and operating cross-border innovation programs. As the Founder of Groove Round, she leads PoC programs, innovation bootcamps, and startup–corporate collaboration initiatives across global ecosystems. Her work connects startups, corporations, and public institutions to accelerate technology commercialization and international market expansion. With extensive experience in startup acceleration and ecosystem building, she focuses on creating impactful open innovation platforms that enable strategic partnerships and global growth.

ANUAR FARIZ FADZIL

CEO of MDEC

Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of MDEC, has built his career at the intersection of policy, business, and innovation, with leadership experience spanning telecommunications, digital platforms, GovTech, and investment.

He is focused on advancing Malaysia as an AI-driven nation by 2030, driving global investments, responsible adoption, and ecosystem collaboration. Previously an Advisor to the Minister of International Trade and Industry, he brings strong expertise in public–private partnerships aligned with national priorities. A graduate of Johns Hopkins SAIS, he is known for shaping inclusive, forward-looking strategies for Malaysia’s digital economy.

Goh Eng Hooi

CEO of Basis Bay

Goh Eng Hooi is the CEO of Basis Bay, leading data centre strategy and operations, including the Cyberjaya campus and the launch of DC2, Malaysia’s first TIA-942 Rated 4 certified facility.

He brings over 20 years of leadership experience across construction, agro-based, and oil & gas industries, with a strong focus on operational excellence and sustainable groth. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and completed an Executive Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Peter Wee

Peter Wee is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia, CPA Australia and is currently a business coach at the Asian School of Business/MIT MBA Program. He is a Partner at Nexea Group, an early stage Venture Capital firm in Kuala Lumpur and has been mentoring start up companies for the past 3 years. He is currently Advisor to two MNC companies.

Subash Palaniappan

Founder & CEO, Unstructured

Subash Palaniappan is an independent consultant to NEXEA and former Executive Vice President at Maybank, where he led group-wide innovation initiatives, drove Agile, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup practices through Agility@Work, and spearheaded over 20 startup partnerships via MaybankFintech and hackathons. A certified Scrum Master with expertise in RPA and Data Analytics, he previously founded a tech startup and a graphic design company, and began his career at Accenture, consulting banks, telcos, and governments across Malaysia, Singapore, and the UK.

Anil brings over 23 years of experience in finance and financial services, having held roles in commercial and investment banking at HSBC, OCBC, CIMB, and AmBank. He later led Enterprise Risk Management and ESG functions at Silverlake Axis Ltd, while also overseeing strategic finance and investor relations. In 2025, he co-founded Omni3, a company focused on workflow optimisation and data visualisation. Anil holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, an MBA from the University of South Australia, and is a fellow of CPA Australia. He is also a member of MIA, ISCA, and CIMA. He served two terms as Treasurer of the Fintech Association of Malaysia and was elected President in April 2025.
